Who we areIntroducing the principal underwriters: Simon Edwards and Keith Broughton.
Simon Edwards has been a senior figure in the Lloyd's marine underwriting market for a number of years. Born August 27th 1955. After leaving university he joined a leading Lloyd's Syndicate, specialising in Marine and Energy business. It was here that he first began underwriting subsea insurance. He went on to become Managing Director and Syndicate Underwriter of the largest Lloyd's marine agency before leaving to run his own Lloyd's agency.
In 1996 Simon launched Leviathan to cater for the industry's growing needs. Today the agency is in its 12th year and its portfolio continues to grow and diversify with the new subsea technologies.
Keith Broughton has a Royal Naval background in ROVs, diving and mine warfare. He also holds a degree in Marine Biology. Born 19th November 1966 in Lusaka, Zambia. He grew up in Honiara, Solomon Islands. He served 10 years in the Royal Navy as a Seaman Officer specialising in diving and mine clearance. During his Naval career his responsibilities included running diving and mine warfare teams, necessitating the use of ROVs.
Prior to becoming an underwriter at Leviathan Keith spent some time as Manager of the Marine Department for KPMG, Cayman Islands.
